Kidney stones (also known as nephrolithiasis) are small hard deposits that form in the kidneys and are usually painful when passed. If the stones cause severe pain, the condition is called renal colic. Small stones may be passed out without any symptoms but sometimes the stones may block the ureter (connecting the kidney to the bladder) or the urethra and cause severe pain or an infection.

Dr. Deepak Kirpekar is a seasoned and well known Urologist from Pune in Maharashtra with more than three decades of experience. Dr. Kirpekar was also involved in ‘Holmium in Urology’ trails.  Till date, Dr. Kirpekar has successfully conducted more than 14,500 TURP, 840 Transplantations, 60 Cystectomy and Diversion, 3500 PNCL, 6120 URS/RIRS and 4000 Lithotripsy. Dr. Kirpekar is a National Board of Urology recognized teacher since 2000 and attached to Ratna Memorial Hospital as Prof. of Urology.
